Resolve Duplicate Account Issues
Overview
A duplicate account can occur when more than one P1 account is created for the same person.
Duplicate accounts may cause problems with:
- Authentication
- Application access
- Account information
- Permissions
WARNING
Do not create another P1 account to resolve an account issue. The Help Desk should review your existing account records first.
Signs of a possible duplicate account
You may have a duplicate account if:
- You receive a message stating that an account already exists.
- You are unexpectedly prompted to create another account.
- Your normal P1 account information is missing after signing in.
- You can authenticate, but your expected P1 access or profile information is not available.
- You previously registered using a different sign-in method or email address.
Resolve a duplicate account
If you believe you have duplicate accounts:
- Do not create another P1 account.
- Do not repeatedly register using different email addresses or authentication methods.
- Contact the Help Desk.
- Explain that you may have more than one P1 account.
- Provide the email address you normally use for your P1 account.
- Include any relevant error message.
- Include a screenshot, if available.
- Wait for the Help Desk to review the accounts and provide the correct next steps.
Need more help?
If you believe you have duplicate accounts, do not attempt to resolve the issue by creating additional accounts. Contact the Help Desk and allow the existing account records to be reviewed.
