Set Up MFA on a New Device
Overview
Use this guide if you have a new phone or no longer have access to the device previously used for MFA.
If you cannot authenticate with your previous device, you may need to request an MFA reset before setting up your new device.
Before you begin
You will need:
- Your new mobile device.
- An approved authenticator application installed on the device.
- Access to the email address associated with your P1 account.
Set up MFA on your new device
- Install an approved authenticator application on your new device.
- If you cannot authenticate with your previous device, submit a support request with the Help Desk .
- The Help Desk will initiate the appropriate MFA reset.
- Check the email address associated with your P1 account.
- Open the MFA setup link provided in the email.
- Scan the new QR code using the authenticator application on your new device.
- Enter the current six-digit code generated by the application.
- Complete the setup.
- Sign in again to confirm that MFA is working.
WARNING
Use the QR code provided during your current setup. A previously saved or scanned QR code may generate codes that are no longer valid.
If your MFA code is not accepted
If the six-digit code generated by your new device is not accepted, see Troubleshoot Invalid Authenticator Codes.

If you cannot complete MFA setup on your new device, contact the Help Desk. When contacting the Help Desk, use the email address associated with your P1 account whenever possible and include:
- A short description of the problem.
- The exact error message you receive.
- A screenshot of the error, if available.

Security reminder: Never provide your password, MFA/OTP codes, MFA QR codes, recovery codes, or other authentication secrets in a support request.
