Request a New Deployment
Overview
Existing product teams may request a new deployment as needed. This article explains how to request a new deployment.
Roles and Responsibilities
| Role | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| Product Team/Application Owner | Ensures prerequisites have been met and requests deployment |
| MDO (PM and Engineer) | Coordinates execution in Party Bus |
| CtF Authority | Approves production readiness |
| CO Team (IL6 only) | Executes classified production deployments |
Prerequisites
Before you begin, you must:
- Have an existing COT
- Have funding in place
- Be fully onboarded onto Party Bus
For production deployments, you must also:
- Have engaged the Cyber team to perform a CtF
- Have a signed CtF letter
How To Request a New Deployment
Staging Deployment Request (IL2/IL4/1L5)
This request is used to deploy or extend applications into staging environments.
- Request an auxiliary staging deployment .
Production Deployment Request (IL2/IL4/IL5/IL6)
This request is used to deploy a validated application into production environments.
- Request a production deployment .
What Happens Next?
- An MDO PM creates and links a COT on the appropriate board.
- The PM validates the request, confirms all required prerequisites are complete, and places the COT in the Prod Deploy – Queued status.
- An MDO engineer is assigned the COT and updates its status to Prod Deploy – In Progress.
- The engineer prepares the deployment structure, verifies release readiness, and performs the production deployment.
- After the deployment is successfully completed, the engineer will update the COT status to Prod Deploy – Complete.
